In 2011, three pastors with hearts for “church like heaven,” Chris Beard, Marc Champagne, and Mark Roser, gathered to discuss issues specific to multiethnic churches. They started meeting every other month, inviting others to join in the discussion. By 2012, the group expanded in numbers and also began to meet on a monthly basis. As interest continued to grow, they adopted the designation of “Mosaix Cincy Network” in 2013, and now have co-directed leadership providing traction and direction to the movement.

We desire to catalyze* the Church in the greater Cincinnati region to labor toward ethnically and economically diverse congregations. Toward this end, MosaixCincy exists to:

  1. Encourage leaders through shared knowledge and the cultivation of city-wide relationships;
  2. Resource leaders with ideas, skills, and cultural awareness unique to churches striving to reflect a diverse community;
  3. Promote the intentional expansion of multi-ethnic, economically diverse churches.

To accomplish these objectives, we meet on a monthly basis (the 2nd Tuesday of each month) at Peoples Church, located in uptown Cincinnati, from Noon-1:30 p.m. Our times together are spent over a meal, combined with instruction or dialogue on a pertinent topic and followed up with discussion and prayer in smaller groups.

In our times together, we seek to examine the theological underpinnings for this movement, explore nuts and bolts/best practices, clarify terms, and continue to pursue any missing voices at the table – all in the context of mutually supportive relationships and a shared vision to see “church in heaven on earth.”

Currently, Sherman Bradley of New Life Covenant Cincinnati, Tom Baxter of Peoples Church Eastside, and Oneya Okuwobi of Peoples Church are co-leading the group.  MosaixCincy has no official membership, but we need your voice. Regular attendance paves the way for mutual learning. We encourage you to take part. In addition, please spread the word and to bring people in your sphere of influence who will benefit from our times together.

*catalyze = “bring about, inspire”

MosaixCincy is a city cohort aligned with the mission and vision of the Mosaix Global Network.
